World Penguin Day
April 25, 2018 10 AM - 3 PM
John Ball Zoo is celebrating World Penguin Day on April 25. There will be opportunities to get to know Magellanic Penguins through activity and education stations throughout the Zoo. You can learn how your actions have an impact on the wild penguin populations and how John Ball Zoo participates in penguin conservation. There will also be opportunities to sponsor a penguin through our Animal Sponsorship Program: Animals! Animals!, a chance to win a Behind-the-Scenes Penguin Encounter, and a much more.
Click here for more information on Zoo hours and Admissions.
Our penguins are fed various fish twice a day.
Watch them at feeding time 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM daily!
Did you know it costs over $23,000 to feed our flock of penguins every year?
Magellanic penguins are considered "near threatened” and declining in the wild.
John Ball Zoo participates in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP).
Please consider donating on World Penguin Day at the Zoo
to support the care of our animals and of those in the wild!
